CMO, Nelson Mandela University and Forestry South Africa proudly presents to you Focus on Forestry 2026 under the theme Operational Excellence in African Forestry: Building Resilient, Productive and Safe Forests.
Focus on Forestry 2026, will be held over three days from 21–23 April 2026 at the Karkloof Country Club (close to Howick in the KZN Midlands, South Africa).
Focus targets a broad range of stakeholders including forest landowners and growers, managers and contractors, while also offering valuable insights to academics, researchers, consultants, training providers, governmental organisations and equipment suppliers in the forestry industry.
The conference covers the entire forestry value chain (including nurseries, fire management, silviculture, forest engineering, wood biomass, carbon, and other areas relevant to the theme). The conference covers from small growers through to large-scale industrial plantations, as well as sustainably managed natural forests and related ecosystems.
Day 1 (21 April): focuses on general forest management, nurseries, silviculture, fire and other risk management and certification.
Day 2 (22 April): focuses on forest engineering, carbon and biomass harvesting.
Both days are structured to provide content that will add significant value to all participants, regardless of subject area specialisation, so it is advised to attend both days.
Focus on Forestry Field Day and Live Demo (23 April): The field day will take place at a Sappi plantation close to the conference venue.

Both conference days – early bird R3 250 and standard price R3 950 (Excluding vat).
Day 1 only – early bird R2 450 and standard price R2 950 (Excluding vat).
Day 2 only – early bird R2 450 and standard price R 2 950 (Excluding vat).
Student Ticket
We have a special ticket available for full-time students only. This ticket allows you to attend both conference days and the field day at an affordable price of only R2 883.5 excluding vat.
To qualify for this ticket, please send proof of registration from your institution to mcebisi@cmogroup.io. Please note that tickets will not be issued until we have received the necessary proof.
Moreover, we require that all students attending the conference bring their student cards with them for verification purposes upon entry to the event.
